Phuket International Airport (HKT)

Phuket International Airport, whose airport code is HKT, is the only airport in Phuket. The number of passengers picking up and dropping ranks second in Thailand every year, which is second only to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Phuket International Airport is located in the north of Phuket, near the Andaman Sea, and has the most beautiful sea views in the world. Walking west from the airport, you can reach Mai Khao Beach and Nai Yang Beach.

If you are flying from the east, when you enter the airport, you will fly close to the sea. At this time, you can see the beautiful limestone caves, vibrant islands and colorful ships.

Airport internal structure

There is only one terminal building at Phuket International Airport. The international terminal and the domestic terminal are located in this building:

First floor: domestic arrival lounge, foreign arrival lounge, Bangkok Airways, passenger arrival lobby

Second floor: Domestic waiting room, foreign waiting room, check-in counter, Angel Airlines, passenger departure hall

Third floor: restaurant, Muslim prayer room, etc.

Airport service facilities

Retail stores: There are more than 10 stores scattered throughout the airport, which sell various snacks, drinks and daily necessities.

Restaurants: On the third floor, there are a variety of Thai and Western flavor food to choose from. In addition, there are snack bars scattered throughout the terminal.

Smoking rooms: There are smoking rooms in both domestic and international waiting rooms, but not in the arrival lounge.

Muslim prayer room: A dedicated lounge for Muslim passengers is on the third floor.

Trolleys: Trolleys are provided free of charge throughout the terminal.

Transit and transfer services: Both transit and transfer areas are in the international waiting room.

Luggage storage service: It is in the arrival hall on the first floor.

Baggage claims: There are 6 claim offices at the airport. Two of them are for domestic passengers, two are for international passengers, and the remaining two are for departing passengers.

Lost and Found: To inquire about lost information, you can contact the airport information.

Medical service: The emergency department is located in the departure hall, and the service time is from 06:00 to 24:00.

Hotel reservation: Hotel reservation information is set in the arrival hall with a special counter.

Car rental service: There are 2 car rental counters in the airport. One is at the north end of the arrival hall and the other is at the south end of the arrival hall.

Travel Service: The service counter is in the departure hall.

Postal service: It is located in the departure hall on the second floor.

Currency exchange: In the arrival hall, there are 4 currency exchange counters. There is only one in the departure hall.

King Power Duty Free Shop at Phuket International Airport

Phuket International Airport's King Power Duty Free Shop has everything from international brands to local brands. International skin care brands in the store include Lamer, Sisley, SKII, La Pairie, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Biotherm, Lancome, Shiseido, Coyan, L'Occitane, Clinique, etc. International cosmetic brands include DIOR, CHANEL, Givenchy, Armani, CPB, YSL, Uemura, NARS, Snow Show etc. Local brands include Mistine, Beauty Buffet, ELE, Boots, etc.

Thailand SIM Cards

Thailand SIM cards can be bought at retail stores in Phuket Airport. If you can't activate the settings on your mobile phone, you can go to the International Service Center on the first floor, where someone will set up for you for free.

Transportation

Limousine: There are rows of silver-grey cars directly opposite the terminal gate, and tickets can be purchased on the first floor of the terminal.

Taxi: On the right side outside the gate of the terminal, there are clearly marked taxi stops. Cost and time estimate: going to Phuket Town is about 400 Baht/30 minutes, to Patong Beach is about 550 Baht/40 minutes, to Kata or Karon Beach is about 650 Baht/one hour.

Airport bus: There is an airport bus ticket window on the first floor of the terminal. After repurchasing the ticket and going outside the parking lot, you can see the gray-orange-black bus labeled AIRPORT BUS. This is the airport bus. Costs: 90 baht for big buses and 100 baht for minibuses. Airport buses' business hours: 06:30-21:30.

Van: There are two van ticket windows on the first floor of the terminal. Costs: going to Phuket Town is 100 Baht, to Patong Beach is 150 Baht, to Kata or Karon Beach is 180 Baht.

Airport rental car: There are two rental car windows in the terminal. The car rental company include Avis, Alamo, National, and Hertz, which require your passport and driving license.
