Ko Lanta (or Ko Lanta Yai) is an island off the west coast of Thailand between the mainland of Thailand and Phi Phi Islands, about 70 kilometers from Krabi.

Thanks for its tranquil environment, remote location and balmy weather, Ko Lanta Yai is always a good place for honeymoon. Especially those who appeal to escape from highly popular island like Phi Phi and Phuket.

1. Baan Saladan

Ko Lanta might not be a good metropolis, but the small household shelters could be one of the highlights of this island. It could be a reasonably short stop to escape from heat and get cold drinks. There is also a post office where you can got postcards which are drawn and printed and designed by someone locally and send those lovely cards home.

2. Koh Lanta's Northwest Coast

Koh Lanta's Northwest Coast offers the most varieties of restaurants, bars and hotels options on the island. More boutique accommodation located on Klong Dao and Phrae Ae( long beach) where have beautiful beaches and stunning sunset for honeymooners.

3. Koh Lanta's East Coast

Unlike the East Coast of Ko Lanta Yai, the western part of Ko Lanta feel like a more primitive fishing village. It's home to many traditional small villages. There were few inhabitants tourists round the place, so it's fit for honeymooners who like a real rural Thai life. The local villagers mainly feeds themselves by fishing, raising shrimp and farming. Be sure to take a day to visit this side of the island, travel further south to get some incredible natural scenery, not just stay in the main town.

Koh Lanta's Southwest Coast is more backward than the north part. The larger proportion of Muslim population means a less hedonistic bar scene but excellent high quality and boutique hotels have been built here due to the simply fantastic beaches. Honeymoon beaches here are mainly Klong Nin and Kantiang Bay.

Mango House is a traditional Thai wooden stilt located just few steps from Lanta Old Town. At night, the hotel became a nightlife center on its plate stretching out over the sea. DJs plays modern music and host over-the-sea party on it pole houses, all these certainly worth a visit.

9. Moo Koh Lanta National Park

Moo Koh Lanta National Park is located in the southwest end of the island and can only reached by trucks or SUV in its rugged terrain. This isolated park contains 16 islands among which Koh Lanta Yai is the main area. Very few tourists will enter this secret mix of jungles, hills and beaches, so you might see not beyond twenty tourist on beach. You can also find a lighthouse there.

10. Khlong Chak Waterfall

Khlong Chak Waterfall is a not-to-miss place for adventure lovers on Ko Lanta. Hidden in the rainforest, red sand, emerald green water and an amazing cave, the seasonal waterfall is better to walk to in rainy season.
