Cheong Wa Dae, or Blue House, is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Korea.   It was built with traditional Korean architectural styles.   The name comes from the translation of Cheong Wa Dae which means “pavilion of blue tiles.”Gyeongbokgung Palace was the first and largest of the royal palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. Built in 1395, Gyeongbokgung Palace was located at the heart of the newly appointed capital of Seoul (then known as Hanyang) and represented the sovereignty of the Joseon Dynasty. The largest of the Five Grand Palaces (the others being Gyeonghuigung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace), Gyeongbokgung served as the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty.Bukchon Hanok Village is a historic village dating back almost 600 years to the Joseon Dynasty which features hanok or Korean traditional houses.  Bukchon means “northern village.”  The quaint residential village lies in a hilly neighborhood north of Cheonggyecheon Stream and between two royal palaces, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace.

Day 4 - Leisure Excursion Around Seoul | Alpaca World, ​Samaksan Mountain Lake Cable Car, The Garden of Morning Calm

Day 6 - Fukuoka Full Day | Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Kyushu National Museum, Nanzoin, Hakata Canal City

Among the hundreds of Tenmangu Shrines throughout Japan, Dazaifu's is the most important one alongside Kyoto's Kitano Tenmangu. Tenmangu Shrines are dedicated to the spirit of Sugawara Michizane, a scholar and politician of the Heian Period. Because of his great learning, Michizane has been associated with Tenjin, a Shinto deity of education, and is popular among students.Kyushu National Museum opened in 2005, becoming Japan's fourth national museum. The others, located in Tokyo , Kyoto  and Nara , were all built in the late 19th century, and the Kyushu museum is by far the most architecturally adventurous. Its glass walls reflect the sky and mountains behind and help the entire building blend into the surrounding scenery.Nanzoin Temple in Sasaguri, Fukuoka Prefecture, is home to what is possibly the world's biggest bronze statue.  The Reclining Buddha's dimensions are impressive, 41 meters in length, 11 meters in height, and weighing in at 300 tons it dwarfs the famous giant bronze Buddha statues of Kamakura and Nara.Canal City Hakata is a large shopping and entertainment complex, calling itself a "city within the city". Attractions include about 250 shops, cafes and restaurants, a theater, game center, cinemas, two hotels and a canal running through the complex.

The complex is comprised of two parks and a memorial museum.Nagasaki atomic bomb museum An informative yet sobering look at the impact of the dropping of the "Fat Man" atomic bomb on Nagasaki  on August 9, 1945, this museum is one of the region's top tourist attractions and is fundamental to understanding the city's post-war fabric.Glover Garden is an open air museum in Nagasaki that exhibits mansions of several of the city's former foreign residents and related buildings. It is located on the hill where Western merchants settled down after the end of Japan's era of seclusion in the second half of the 19th century.Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in Japan.  The district in downtown Nagasaki stretches over approximately one city block dissected by intersecting lanes and is home to a variety of shops and restaurants.  It is the best place to eat Nagasaki's famous, Chinese-influenced dishes, Chanpon and Sara Udon.Famed for the observatory atop Mt. Inasa offering remarkable 360-degree views of Nagasaki 's landscape, Inasayama Park also has playgrounds, an outdoor amphitheater and other attractions.

Day 8 - Kumamoto Full Day Guided Tour | Yanagawa River Descending, Kumamoto Castle, Suizenji Jojuen Garden, Kumamon Square

A city in southern Fukuoka Prefecture , Yanagawa is often called "the city of water" and "the Venice of Kyushu" because of its 930 kilometers of waterways, which were originally built as irrigation channels using the waters of the Chikugo River.  Yanagawa now offers slow, scenic cruises down the waterways in flatboats known as donkobune, poled along by boatmen in traditional wear.Kumamoto Castle is one of the most impressive castles in Japan.  With large castle grounds and a variety of buildings, Kumamoto Castle offers its visitors one of the most complete castle experiences in Japan.Suizenji Garden is a spacious, Japanese style landscape garden in Kumamoto, best enjoyed by strolling along a circular path. It was built by the Hosokawa family in the 17th century. The garden reproduces the 53 post stations of the Tokaido, the important road, which connected Edo with Kyoto during the Edo Period, in miniature form, including a small Mt. Day 9 - Takachiho and Mount Aso Full Day Guided Tour | Takachiho Shrine, Takachiho Groge Rental Boat, Mount Aso, Kusasenri

Takachiho-jinja Shrine was founded about 1,900 years ago, and enshrines three generations of deities, including Ninigi no Mikoto, the grandchild of Amaterasu Omikami and great grandparent of Emperor Jimmu. Takachiho is a very important place in Japanese mythology, and it is said that there were once more than 500 shrines in the area. Takachiho Shrine is still widely worshipped for its deity of marriage and purification.Imagine lazily cruising through a deep volcanic gorge in a rowboat while a waterfall forms rainbows in the mist around you. The Takachiho gorge is formed by columnar jointing, the result of the rapid cooling of an ancient lava flow. The view of the gorge from a boat directly up the 17-meter Manai Falls is truly thrilling. You can see the gorge and more nature, culture and history on the Takachiho Course.Mount Aso is an active volcano in the center of Kyushu which most recently erupted in 2021 and 2016.  Aso's ancient caldera ranks among the world's largest, with a diameter of up to 25 kilometers and a circumference of over 100 kilometers.  In the center of the caldera stand the mountain's active volcanic peaks, including Mount Nakadake, whose spectacular crater is accessible to tourists.The view of Kusasenri is one of the iconic scenes of Kumamoto; a vast emerald green grassland plateau with peacefully grazing cows and horses reflected in the still crater ponds on the top of the central peaks of Aso.
