Day 1 - Welcome to Lhasa

Today you will fly to Lhasa. On arrival, your private guide will be ready to welcome you at the arrival hall, and transfer to your hotel with a private car and driver. Your guide will help you with luggage and hotel check-in, and ensure your arrival is worry-free.

Day 2 - Lhasa Spiritual Heritage: Potala Palace Grandeur, Jokhang Temple Pilgrims and Barkhor Street Circuits

Begin your day by stepping into the majestic realm of the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural marvel that crowns the Lhasa skyline. Day 3 - Lhasa to Shigatse: Yamdrok Lake's Turquoise Waters, Karola Glacier and Gyantse's Kumbum Stupa

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Lhasa towards Shigatse, first stopping at the breathtaking Lake Yamdrok (Yamdrok Yumtso), one of Tibet's three sacred lakes. This turquoise jewel sits at 4,441 metres above sea level, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and offering spectacular panoramic views. Continue to the magnificent Karo La Glacier, perched at 5,045 metres, where you can witness the dramatic ice formations cascading down the mountainside. Next, visit Pelkor Chode Monastery and the iconic Kumbum Stupa in Gyantse, a unique architectural complex featuring 108 chapels and thousands of Buddha images that showcase the harmonious blend of Tibetan, Han and Nepali artistic styles. After exploring these remarkable sites, you will drive approximately 1.5 hours to reach Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city, completing this unforgettable journey through some of Tibet's most stunning landscapes and cultural treasures.

Day 4 - Shigatse to Everest Region: Tashilhunpo Monastery's Giant Maitreya Buddha and Gawula Pass Five Peaks Panorama

Morning departure from Shigatse. Tour Duration: Approximately 10-12 hours. Begin your journey at Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lamas and one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. You will marvel at the world's largest gilded copper statue of Jampa Buddha (Maitreya), standing 26 metres tall and crafted from over 231,400 jin of brass and 6,700 taels of gold. Continue your ascent to Gawula Pass at 5,198 metres, one of the rare vantage points on Earth where you can simultaneously view five peaks above 8,000 metres: Mount Everest (8,848.86m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Shishapangma (8,012m), offering an unparalleled panoramic spectacle of the Himalayas.

Day 5 - Everest Base Camp Sunrise: Environmental Bus Ascent to 5,200 Metres and Rongbuk Monastery World's Highest Temple

Early morning departure from Everest Town. Tour Duration: Approximately 8-10 hours. You will transfer to an eco-friendly shuttle bus for the approximately 50km journey from Everest Town to Everest Base Camp at 5,200 metres, bringing you remarkably close to the world's highest peak. Capture unforgettable photographs at the Everest Monument and witness the spectacular sunrise illuminating Mount Everest. Visit Rongbuk Monastery at 5,154 metres, the world's highest monastery, which offers an exceptional vantage point for viewing Everest. Day 6 - Saga to Lake Manasarovar: Sacred Circumambulation at 4,588 Metres with Mount Kailash and Naimona'nyi Peak Views

You will visit Lake Manasarovar at 4,588 metres, one of the world's highest freshwater lakes and a sacred site revered by Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism and Bon religion alike, known as the "Eternal Undefeated Turquoise Lake". You will be captivated by the crystal-clear, deep blue waters of this pristine lake. Enjoy distant views of the sacred Mount Kailash and Naimona'nyi Peak rising majestically on the horizon. Perform a traditional kora (circumambulation) along the lakeshore and witness the breathtaking sunset casting golden hues across the sacred waters, creating a truly spiritual and unforgettable experience in one of Tibet's most revered locations.

Day 7 - Lake Manasarovar to Darchen: Scenic Transfer Through High Altitude Plateau Landscapes

Your journey takes you from the sacred Lake Manasarovar (Mapam Yumco) area towards Darchen (Tarchen), the gateway town to Mount Kailash. This scenic drive covers approximately one hour of direct travel time, though the full day allows for leisurely appreciation of the remarkable Tibetan plateau landscapes.

As you traverse the high-altitude terrain, you will witness the dramatic and ever-changing scenery of the Ali region. The route offers sweeping views of vast grasslands, distant snow-capped peaks and the unique geological formations characteristic of western Tibet. Darchen sits at approximately 4,560m and serves as the traditional starting point for pilgrims and trekkers undertaking the kora (circumambulation) of Mount Kailash, one of Asia's most sacred mountains.


Day 8 - Darchen to Zanda: Mount Kailash Distant Views and Journey to Ancient Kingdom Ruins

Begin your day departing from Darchen (Tarchen) with distant views of the sacred Mount Kailash (Gang Rinpoche), standing at 6,638m. This pyramid-shaped peak is considered one of the most sacred mountains in Asia, revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and Bon followers alike. You will admire this magnificent mountain from afar, taking in its majestic presence against the Tibetan sky. The symmetrical snow-capped peak has drawn pilgrims for centuries, who believe that circumambulating the mountain brings spiritual merit and purification.

Following your views of Mount Kailash, you will drive approximately five hours towards Zanda County (Tsada), traversing some of Tibet's most remote and spectacular terrain. The journey takes you across the high-altitude plateau of the Ali region, where you will witness dramatic landscapes featuring vast open spaces, distant mountain ranges and unique geological formations characteristic of western Tibet.

As you approach Zanda, the scenery transforms into an otherworldly landscape of striking earth forests and clay formations, creating a remarkable contrast to the snow-capped peaks behind you. The route offers excellent opportunities for photography and experiencing the untouched wilderness of one of the world's most isolated regions.

Day 9 - Zanda to Shiquanhe: Guge Kingdom Archaeological Site and Zhada Earth Forest Geological Wonders

Your day begins with a visit to the remarkable Guge Kingdom Ruins, perched dramatically atop a hillside in Zanda County. This ancient kingdom, which flourished from the 10th to 17th centuries, was once a powerful centre of Tibetan Buddhism and culture. You will explore the extensive ruins featuring cave dwellings, temples, murals and stupas carved into the mountainside. The site offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval Tibetan civilisation and provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Zanda valley and its unique landscape.

Continue your journey with a two-hour drive to the Zanda Xiayigou Earth Forest Scenic Area, one of nature's most extraordinary geological wonders. These towering clay formations, sculpted by millions of years of erosion, create an alien-like landscape of pillars, ridges and valleys. The earth forest displays striking colours ranging from golden yellow to deep red, particularly captivating during sunrise and sunset. Walking amongst these natural sculptures offers a surreal experience unlike anywhere else on Earth.

After exploring the earth forest, you will drive approximately 3.5 hours to Shiquanhe (Sengge Tsangpo), the administrative capital of Ali Prefecture. This journey takes you through the vast Tibetan plateau, offering continued views of the region's dramatic and remote landscapes.
