Day 1 - Welcome to Beijing!
Upon your arrival in Beijing, your driver will welcome you at your airport’s arrival hall and get you to your hotel in a private vehicle.
One of our pro English-speaking guides shall assist you throughout your trip.
Day 2 - From Tian'anmen to Hutongs || Exploring Beijing's Imperial and Local Heritage
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square and a symbol of China.
Walk across the square and explore the awe-inspiring Forbidden City. With over 8,728 rooms, it's the world’s largest ancient palace complex China's best-preserved ancient building collection.
Later, take a 15-minute walk to Jingshan Park for a panoramic view of modern Beijing and the Forbidden City.
After lunch, enjoy a rickshaw tour through the historic Hutongs, immersing yourself in local life.
Day 3 - Beijing Adventure: Mutianyu Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, & Tai Chi
You'll begin your day at the iconic Temple of Heaven, joining a Tai Chi session with locals. This traditional Chinese martial art is a beloved morning ritual practiced daily by Beijing residents. It's a unique opportunity to connect with locals through this ancient practice.
Then, you'll journey to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. You'll ascend to the wall via cable car, where you can get a stunning aerial view of the wall and its surroundings. Once you're atop the wall, you'll be able to stroll along its storied pathways, watchtowers, and taking in the vast, panoramic views of the area's rolling hills and valleys.
Day 4 - Summer Palace Serenity and Xi'an Bound || A UNESCO Heritage Adventure and Onward Journey
You’ll begin your tour with a leisurely stroll through the stunning Summer Palace, a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. Wander along the picturesque pathways, surrounded by lush greenery and ornate pavilions, and soak in the serene beauty of this royal retreat. You’ll get to explore the palace's Long Corridor, which is famous for its exquisite painted decorations and the panoramic views it offers.
At the shores of the gorgeous Kunming Lake, you’ll be able to take in the tranquil waters and scenic landscapes that have inspired poets and painters for centuries.
At the Tower of Buddhist Incense, the highest building in the Summer Palace complex, you’ll get to enjoy the breathtaking views of the palace grounds and the distant cityscape from the top.
You’ll conclude your day with a visit to the Yonghe Temple, also known as the Lama Temple. This beautiful temple is one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China, filled with beautifully decorated ornate halls and intricate sculptures.
You’ll then board a high-speed train for a 4.5-hour ride to Xi'an. On arrival, your private guide will be ready to welcome you at the arrival hall, and transfer to your hotel with a personal car and driver. Your guide will help you with luggage and hotel check-in.
Day 5 - Terracotta Army Wonders and Xi'an's Cultural Delights: Bell & Drum Towers, Muslim Quarter, and the Great Mosque
Depart from your hotel and venture to the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage-listed site of the Terracotta Army: rows of 7,000 life-sized terracotta figures and horses buried beside Emperor Qin Shihuang in his majestic mausoleum. Browse the exhibitions of the museum to gain further insight into the intriguing history of the tomb.
Later this afternoon, take a walk on the Bell & Drum Tower Square and from where you could pay an outer visit of the two towers. The two towers were also built in the Ming Dynasty and the Drum Tower is 4 years older than the Bell Tower.
At the Muslim Quarter food street, you'll discover an array of local delicacies and snacks, alongside charming souvenirs to take home. A must-visit for food lovers!
Next, you'll explore the Great Mosque, a central landmark for Xi’an’s Muslim community. Unlike typical mosques, this unique site blends Islamic and traditional Chinese architectural style. Stroll through serene courtyards adorned with intricately painted pavilions and classic Chinese gardens.
Day 6 - Flight to Yichang & Embark Yangtze Cruise
Enjoy your free time until your guide come and escort you to airport for your onward flight.
Today, we will arrange a private transfer from Yichang Airport or Train Station to the Cruise Visitor Center. En route, you’ll visit several highlights of Yichang.
First, explore Yichang Museum, where you can delve into the region's rich history and cultural artifacts. Next, visit The Three Visitors Cave, a notable scenic spot with historical significance. Finally, stop by Lighthouse Square, a picturesque area perfect for a quick stroll and photo opportunities.
After your sightseeing, you'll be transferred to the Cruise Visitor Center to begin your Yangtze Cruises journey.
Enjoy your free time until your guide come and escort you to airport for your flight to Yichang. On arrival, your private guide will welcome you at the arrival hall and transfer you to Three Gorges Center Cruise Teminal with a private car and driver.
Victoria River Upstream Cruise Day 1: Begin your adventure from Yichang! Gather at the vibrant Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal for a thrilling shuttle ride to Maoping. Feel the excitement build as we embark on our journey upstream, ready to uncover the wonders that await along the majestic Yangtze River.
Excludes a mandatory tip, approximately 150 RMB per person, to be paid on board.
Day 7 - Discovery of the Three Gorges Project
Victoria Cruise Lines Upstream Day 2: Dive into excitement as we explore the marvel of engineering at the Three Gorges Dam which spans the Yangtze River at Sandouping in Xiling Gorge. It is the world's largest power station. Later today, sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles) and deepest of the Three Gorges.
Afterwards, indulge in our Captain's Welcome Reception, a delightful fusion of delectable cuisine and warm camaraderie. As the evening unfolds, be enchanted by the vibrant hues and captivating performances of the Minorities and Dynasty Costumes Show. It's a day packed with wonder and cultural immersion you won't want to miss!
Additional optional shore excursions (river conditions permitting) to Tribe of the Three Gorges or Hometown of Qu Yuan, offering Interesting glimpses into the culture and history of the Xiling Gorge region, and through the recently-completed unique ship lock with a ship lift, the world's largest; it will be transited in about 40 minutes to an hour.
Victoria Cruise Day 4: Three Gorges Dam/Yichang
This morning you’ll tour the Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest power station, located at Sandouping in Xiling Gorge. Before the dam tour, you can take an optional excursion to see the recently completed ship lock with the world’s largest ship lift. After your morning sightseeing, you'll be transferred by motor coach to Yichang. Another optional excursion includes visiting the town of Qu Yuan.
You’ll then head to Yichang’s high-speed rail station to catch a 6.5-hour train ride to Shanghai. Upon arrival, your personal guide will greet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel in a private car, where your guide will assist with your luggage and hotel check-in.
Day 8 - Victoria Downstream Cruise Day 3 | Appreciating the Beauty of the Three Gorges
Today, you'll explore the Three Gorges, beginning with Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Qutang Gorge is the shortest at 5 miles, the narrowest at 500 feet, and has the most dramatic scenery. In contrast, Wu Gorge stretches 25 miles and is renowned for its serene beauty, lush forested mountains, and towering cliffs.
Afterward, you’ll be transported to another vessel for a relaxing trip through the scenic Goddess Stream gorges. Depending on river’s conditions, you might instead visit the gorges of Shennong Stream.
Finally, you’ll enter the 41-mile long Xiling Gorge, the longest and deepest of the Three Gorges.
*You have the option of going on an additional trip to White Emperor City an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge or to the Three Gorges Peak.
Day 9 - Victoria Cruise Lines Upstream Day 4 | Amazing Yangtze River Cruise
You’ll begin your morning with a peaceful Early Bird Coffee and Tea before you head off to explore the mystical Snow Jade Cave in Fengdu.
As the day comes to a close, you’ll wind down with a Captain's Farewell Dinner.
Additional optional stops include Fengdu's “Ghost City”.
Day 10 - Victoria Cruise Lines Upstream Day 5 | Chongqing City Tour
Today marks the final day of your Yangtze River cruise. You’ll disembark after breakfast onboard.
Upon arriving at the Chongqing Ferry Terminal, your private guide will greet you and transport you to your hotel in a private vehicle, where they will assist with your luggage and check-in.
You’ll begin your tour of Chongqing starting with a visit to the Three Gorges Museum. Explore the rich history and culture of the region and gain insights into the significance of the Yangtze River.
You’ll marvel at the Hongya Cave, an enormous stilted building complex offering stunning city views and a unique architectural marvel.
You’ll continue to Jiefangbei Square. Experience the energetic atmosphere and modern urban landscape that complement the city's historical treasures.
Finally, you’ll end the day at Ciqikou, also known as Porcelain Port. This ancient street offers a glimpse into Chongqing's heritage with its traditional architecture, local snacks, and lively tea houses and mini bars.
Day 11 - Bullet Train to Guilin & Guilin City Tour | Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill
Enjoy your free time until your guide comes and escort you to the high-speed train station.
Take a 4-hour bullet train from Chongqing to Guilin. Upon your arrival, you'll then be taken to your main destinations for the day:
You'll visit the enchanting Reed Flute Cave, a natural limestone cave adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. This "Palace of Natural Art" is illuminated with vibrant lights that highlight the intricate formations, creating a magical underground landscape. Explore the cave's numerous chambers and learn about its geological and historical significance.
Next, head to the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin's most famous landmark. This natural rock formation, resembling an elephant drinking from the Li River, is a symbol of the city. Take a leisurely walk around the hill, enjoy the scenic views, and capture memorable photos. The surrounding park offers lush greenery and tranquil spots to relax and appreciate Guilin's beauty.
Day 12 - Tranquil Escape: Li River Cruise and Yangshuo Exploration
Today, you’ll embark on a Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, the highlight of any visit to northeastern Guangxi Province. Marvel at the stunning Karst peaks that surprise at every bend of the clear river beneath the blue sky. Observe water buffalo in the fields, peasants harvesting rice paddies, and schoolchildren and fishermen drifting by on bamboo rafts. With its breathtaking scenery, this river journey offers a glimpse into a life far removed from the urban hustle.
In the morning, you’ll travel to the Zhujiang Pier to board your boat for the approximately 5-hour cruise, where you’ll be treated to the spectacular views along the Li River.
You’ll end the day exploring Yangshuo and strolling down the famous West Street.
Day 13 - Experience the Yangshuo Countryside: A Biking Adventure Through Time
In Yangshuo, you’ll embark on a cycling adventure in the countryside. Choose between a sidecar, e-bike, or traditional bicycle to explore the area as well as visit some of the following attractions:
Along the Yulong River, you’ll find bamboo rafts float gently down the waterway. The river is flanked by verdant hills and picturesque farmlands, offering a peaceful escape into nature.
Moon Hill is a natural arch that offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside at the very top.
Day 14 - Bullet Train to Hong Kong
Enjoy your free time until your guide comes and escort you to the train station for your 3.5-hour ride to Hong Kong. Upon your arrival, your personal guide will be ready to welcome you at the arrival hall, and take you to your hotel in a personal car and driver.
