Day 1 - Welcome to Bangkok!
Today you will fly to Bangkok. On arrival, your private guide will welcome you at the arrival hall and transfer you to your hotel with a private car and driver. Your guide will help you with luggage and hotel check-in and ensure your arrival is worry-free.
Day 2 - Bangkok Canals & Temples Tour
Your trip today will start with a long-tail boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River which will offer an open view of the riverside scenery. The boat will take you deeply exploring the narrow river ways winding through local residents and glistening ancient temples. The cruise ends in Wat Arun on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Then, you will depart for the landmark Wat Arun. After that, you will cross the Chao Phraya River to the opposite bank by water taxi.
Your second stop will be Wat Pho, which is one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples. Wat Pho was built by King Rama I about 200 years ago and houses the gigantic, gold-plated Reclining Buddha image. This unique image is 49 meters long and 12 meters high with beautifully inlaid mother-of-pearl soles. Lunch at a local restaurant before your visit to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, undoubtedly the most dazzling, spectacular royal monuments and the city’s most famous landmark. The four must-see temples on today's tour form the skyline of Bangkok and give the best glimpse for fresh visitors. Then return to the hotel.
Day 3 - Ayutthaya History Park
Ayutthaya History Park. Begin by visiting the Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace, located 60 kilometers north of Bangkok, an impressive architectural blend of East and West dating back to the 17th century.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue to Ayutthaya, which was the capital of the Thai Kingdom for 417 years. The city was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and in 1767 it was destroyed by the Burmese army. Nowadays the ruins of the former city are on the UNESCO World Heritage list. You will take a local Tuk Tuk to stroll around the ruins of several ancient temples including Wat Phanancheong, Wat Mahathat, where the roots of a tree surround the head of Buddha; Wat Prasri Sanphet, a former royal temple during Ayutthaya days of glory; Elephant Camp, Wat Lokkaya (Wat Pranon), if time permits, Wat Chai Wattanaram, a perfect example of Khmer architectural influence. During the visit, your guide will take you to sample a notable local snack – Roti Sai Mai which is also referred to as "Sweet Angel Hair".
After the visit, you will take a private car back to your hotel in Bangkok.
Day 4 - Erawan Waterfall & Death Railway
This morning, our private guide and driver will pick you up and drive 2.5 hours from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. Your first stop will be at the Don Rak War Cemetery, you will learn about the history of the 6,982 Allied POWs who perished during the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway.
Continue to JEATH Museum. It is dedicated to the Allied prisoners of war(POWs) and Asian laborers who suffered and died at Hellfire Pass and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region during the Second World War.
After having learned about the basic historical knowledge of Kanchanaburi, you will visit the world-famous bridge over the River Kwai. The bridge was part of the Death Railway and was destroyed in Allied bombing raids towards the end of World War II but later rebuilt by the Japanese as war reparations. You will experience a short train ride on the historic death railway that memorializes the hard work of the POWs during WWII. At the same time, taking in the views of the lush jungle scenery.
After lunch at a local restaurant with a very good scenic view of river kwai, we will drive you to your last stop, which is the spectacular seven-tiered Erawan Waterfall. The waterfall consists of 7 plateaus and you can hike to the highest level through a small jungle path. Possible to swim in the clear water with fish around you. Be sure to bring a swimsuit and towel if you are eager for a dip!
Around 4:00 pm, you will say goodbye to the beautiful waterfall.
Day 5 - Fly to Chiang Rai
You will take your internal flight to the border city of Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is located in the north of Thailand and is famous for its Golden Triangle district. Your private guide is waiting for you at the airport to take you by private car to your hotel.
Day 6 - Golden Triangle Discovery
This morning, you will visit the Golden Triangle, which is renowned as the center of the opium trade in the latter half of the 20th century. From a hilltop viewpoint, marvel at the splendor of the mighty Mekong as it joins the Ruak River forming the actual "Triangle" between Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. The Opium Museum near the viewpoint of the golden triangle was built to educate people about the dangers of the drug through an entertaining exhibition that traces the history of opium from its first use 5,000 years ago to current issues of drug abuse and addiction. Many publications regard it as one of the best museums in Thailand.
Chiang Rai's close proximity to Laos makes it easy to visit this mysterious country. You will cross the Mae Kong River into Laos to witness local village life (take your passport). You can walk around the local market where you will have free time to browse and perhaps pick up a few bargains. Return to the Thai side of the Mae Kong River for lunch with a river view before leaving for the Doi Tung Royal Palace and Garden (Mae Fah Luang Garden), Doi Tung was once a secluded area in the heart of the Golden Triangle-a leading region of illicit world opium production. The watershed area was denuded by slash-and-burn cultivation, and further accelerated by opium growing. After the Princess Mother's first visit to Doi Tung, She announced"I will reforest Doi Tung".The Princess Mother decided to improve the conditions of Doi Tung, socially, economically, and environmentally. She demonstrated her commitment by building her home in Doi Tung, which is what we called Mae Fah Luang Garden.
Day 7 - White Temple & Blue Temple & Black House
After breakfast and check out from the hotel, you will head to Chiang Rai today! On the way, you will visit a hot spring for relaxation, then continue to Wat Rong Khun or ‘the White Temple’, blending traditional Buddhist art with contemporary themes. Followed by the 'Black House’, known as ‘Baan Dam’ in Thai. Baan Damis Thawan Duchanee’s artful portrayal of hell. The opaque decor and dead animals adorning each room make Duchanee’s estate the complete opposite of the White Temple, the glimpse of heaven designed by his teacher Chalermchai Kositpipat. Although off the beaten track, the Black House is not something to be overlooked. Your last stop is Wat Rong Suea Ten or the ‘The Blue Temple’ which was built by the student of Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat who built The famous White Temple. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will arrive at Chiang Rai. Your guide will help with your hotel check-in, then please enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.
Day 8 - Doi Suthep Mountain & Meo Hill Tribe Villages
A relaxing drive of about 1hr takes you to Doi Suthep Mountain. Climb 309 steps to the top (For the less active traveler, a tram is available for a small surcharge.), enjoying the truly breathtaking scenery all along the way. You will find Wat Phra That at the very top, one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. At the top, rest and relax while marveling at the panoramic views of the city of Chiang Mai.
Next, take an adventurous ride on a songthaew across the rugged roads toward the exotic Meo hill tribe villages, which are located a further 18 Kilometers from Wat Doi Suthep into the mountains of Doi Suthep Pui National Park. You will visit a native household and discover the daily lives of the friendly villagers. Learn about their unique customs and heritage before returning to your hotel in Chiang Mai.
Day 9 - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
A half-day package to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (join activity) offers you an enjoyable opportunity to spend quality time with elephants in their natural home, as well as gain an insight into their history and behavior, and create cherished lifelong memories of their time spent with these amazing animals.
Today you will be picked up (join transfer) from your place of accommodation and will drive through scenic agricultural areas before arriving at the Sanctuary. There, you will meet your English-speaking guide and learn a little about the elephants, before changing into traditional Karen clothing.
After being allocated bananas and sugar cane to feed to the elephants, you will walk with your guide through the Sanctuary, where you will find free-roaming elephants and hear their individual stories. You can touch, feed, photograph, and interact with the elephants at your leisure while you learn about their lifestyle and behaviors.
After the close encounter with the elephant, you will return to your hotel (join transfer), and the rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Day 10 - Fly to Siem Reap
Enjoy your free time until your guide comes and escorts you to the airport for your onward flight to Siem Reap, your private guide will meet with you at the airport and take you to the hotel for check-in. In your free time, you can stroll around the streets of Siem Reap and explore the city.
Day 11 - Angkor Wat Exploration
This morning you will be picked up at your accommodation in Siem Reap to begin your unforgettable Angkor Wat Tour. You will be transferred by private car to the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourists. Your tour will include visiting to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Angkor Period (AD 802-1432). Visit the breathtaking Bayon Temple, one of the most popular sites in the Angkor complex with over 200 giant faces carved into its 54 towers. The temple was designed to represent the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire and it still carries a completely majestic atmosphere. You will also visit Baphuon Temple, Phimeanakas Temple, the Terrace of the Elephant, the Terrace of the Leper King, and Royal Palace Temple.
In the afternoon, you will visit Angkor Wat Temple, one of the seven wonders of the world. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. View the sunset at Phnom Bakheng before heading back to your accommodation.
Day 12 - Angkor Sunrise & Banteay Srei Temples
If you want, you can take the early morning trip witness sunrise over Angkor Wat temple and listening singing birds over the ancient land of Angkor area, you also have the chance for a friendly talk with the monks and nuns at a nearby pagoda. After the sunrise tour, breakfast either at a hotel or takeaway is available.
Start the day by visiting Banteay Srei Temples, nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of its decorative carving. Continue to visit Banteay Samre, Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.
Have lunch at a local restaurant for exotic cuisine. Ta Prohm temple and Banteay Kdei are your next stops before some leisure time in the late afternoon.
Day 13 - Tonle Sap Lake Tour
Today is a chance to make a difference and see so much more. You will take this opportunity to see what real life is like in a Cambodian Village. You will start your trip toward a local village by driving through local villages, passing rice plantations and herds of cows or buffalo. Our driver is happy to stop along the way allowing you to capture some great photo opportunities. Arriving at the Village, you will meet your host family for the day and you will embark on an Ox cart to visit the Khmer Village and enjoy the view of the rice field and lots of palm trees with great fresh air. This tour program provides them with a sustainable stream of income and creates opportunities for the entire village. Life in a Cambodian village revolves around the seasons. Rice planting makes way for harvest and then rice sorting and husking. You will take a bull cart to go around the villages, rice fields, and lines of palm trees before boarding a boat on Tonle Sap, the biggest fresh-water lake in South East Asia. Enjoy the bustling life of local people in floating villages with floating schools, floating restaurants, and even floating hospitals. In the afternoon transfer to visit Artisan D'Angkor, and Old market.
Day 14 - Fly to Phnom Penh
Your guide will escort you to Siem Reap Airport for your domestic flight to Phnom Penh, the Capital of Cambodia.
Day 15 - Phnom Penh City Tour
Today you will visit the Royal Palace. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), displaying plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made of diamond, emerald, gold, and silver. Travelers will proceed to visit Independence Monument which was constructed in 1954 after Cambodians took their country back from the French colony, continuing a visit to National Museum, We pass through the River Front park whose scenery is much worth shooting, and continue to the only one hill in town with sacred sites called Wat Phnom.
Day 16 - Phnom Penh Killing Field
Visit Tuol Sleng prison (Genocide Museum) was the most secret organ of the Khmer Rouge regime. S-21 stands for "Security Office 21." was Angkar's premier security institution, specifically designed for the interrogation and extermination of anti-Angkar elements. Continue to visit the Choeung Ek museum, between 1975 and 1978 about 17,000 men, women, children, and infants detained and tortured at S-21 prison were transported to the extermination camp of Choeung Ek.
Day 17 - Transfer to Sihanoukville
Relax until your driver escorts you from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville.
Day 18 - Free Time
Day of leisure. Relax at your hotel or explore the surrounding area.
