Day 1 - Welcome to Vietnam!
Today you will fly to Hanoi. On arrival, your private guide will welcome you at the arrival hall and transfer you to your hotel with a private car and driver. Your guide will help you with luggage and hotel check-in and ensure your arrival is worry-free.
Day 2 - Hanoi City Sights, Cyclo Tour, Water Puppet Show
Today you'll jump into Hanoi's sights and sounds on a tour that covers all the essentials. You'll visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes the Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's former stilt-house residence, The Hoa Lo Prison, The One Pillar Pagoda and The Temple of Literature, which, dating back to 1070, is Vietnam’s oldest university.
After lunch, you will explore the enthralling Museum of Ethnology, which contains an extensive display of life-size structures dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. Next, enjoy an hour-long cyclo ride winding through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi! The day finishes with a traditional performance of the famous Vietnamese Water Puppets Show.
Day 3 - Head to Halong Bay and Overnight on Board
After breakfast, you will take a private transfer for about 3 hrs to Halong City, where you will begin your one and a half days' Halong Bay cruise. You will board the tradtional Vietnamese junk in the afternoon and cruise around the Halong Bay's limestone islets and caves doted the sea and see the sun set over the clam waters at the deck. Enjoy a wonderful dinner at evening. All meals are included during your stay on board. There are also a variety of optional activities waiting for you. Such as swimming, kayaking, diving...etc.
Day 4 - Morning Tai Chi & Fly to Siem Reap
Wake up early this morning to catch the sunrise over the bay with a Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck. Continue cruising and you can choose either kayak or traditional rowing boat to around discovering local life on the waters. Disembark at Tuan Chau International Passenger Port at around 11:00, where your guide and driver will wait for you and drive you to Hanoi airport for your onward flight (arrive at the airport at around 1:30 pm).
Welcome to Siem Reap,your private guide will meet with you at airport and take you to hotel for check in. In your free time in the afternoon, strolling the streets of Siem Reap and explore the city.
Day 5 - Angkor Wat Exploration
This morning you will be picked up at your accommodation in Siem Reap to begin your unforgettable Angkor Wat Tour. You will be transferred by private car to the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourist.Your tour will include visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Angkor Period (AD 802-1432). Visit the breathtaking Bayon Temple, one of the most popular sites in Angkor complex with over 200 giant faces carved into its 54 towers. The temple was designed to represent the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire and it still carries a completely majestic atmosphere. You will also visit Baphuon Temple,Phimeanakas Temple,the Terrace of the Elephant,the Terrace of the Leper King,and Royal Palace Temple.
In the afternoon, you will visit Angkor Wat Temple, one of the seven wonders of the world. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. View sunset at Phnom Bakheng before heading back to your accommodation.
Day 6 - Angkor Sunrise & Banteay Srei Temples
If you want, you can take the early morning trip witness sunrise over Angkor Wat temple and listening singing birds over the ancient land of Angkor area, you also have the chance for a friendly talk with the monks and nuns at a nearby pagoda. After the sunrise tour, breakfast either at hotel or take away is available.
Start the day by visiting Banteay Srei Temples, nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carving.Continue to visit Banteay Samre, Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.
Have lunch at a local restaurant for exotic cuisine.Ta Prohm temple and Banteay Kdei are your next stops before some leisure time in the late afternoon.
Day 7 - Boat Trip to Tonle Sap Lake & Fly to Bangkok
Today you will visit Tonle Sap, the largest fresh-water lake in South East Asia. After pick up from Hotel, you will visit Kompong Phluk Floating Village, The name Kompong Phluk translates to “Harbour of Tusks”, reflecting the past trade in elephants. Kompong Phluk is a cluster of three villages of stilted houses built within the floodplain. It is an attractive small community surrounded by mangroves, virtually untouched by time or tourism. During boat trip you will explore Floating Village, High steak house in tonle sap Lake, local community, and childrent school.
Your private driver will escort you to Siem Reap international airport for your onward flight to Bangkok. On arrival, your private guide will welcome you at the arrival hall and transfer you to your hotel with a private car and driver. Your guide will help you with luggage and hotel check-in and ensure your arrival is worry-free.
Day 8 - 100+ Year Old Floating Market & The Grand Palace
Depart early morning for a 2-hour drive to the 100-year-old Damnoen Saduak Floating Market located 100 km (62 mi) from Bangkok, one of Thailand’s most famous attractions. Day-in and day-out from about 8 am to about 11 am, the Floating Market is routinely crowded with hundreds of vendors and purchasers floating in their small rowing boats selling and buying or exchanging their goods. You will have a chance to take a ride on a long tail boat to get the real sense of a floating village. After the long tail boat cruise around the village, you will stop at a transit point where you can choose to further explore the floating market by a 4-seat boat (at your own expense) or stroll around by the river's banks.
After having lunch, you will return to Bangkok, and you will visit Wat Pho, which is one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples. Wat Pho was built by King Rama I about 200 years ago and houses the gigantic, gold-plated Reclining Buddha image. This unique image is 49 meters long and 12 meters high with beautifully inlaid mother-of-pearl soles. Your last stop is The Royal Grand Palace, the nation's landmark and the most revered royal monument. You will see the Palace, which is used for many different occasions, and you will see The Coronation Hall, the Funeral Hall, the Royal Guest House, and the mysterious, famous Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. Then return to the hotel.
Most temples & palaces in Thailand are sacred place, so you'll need to respect the strict dress code in place. You'll need to wear pants or a dress/skirt that extends well past your knees, and a top that fully covers your shoulders. (No shorts, mini-skirts, short skirts, tight fitting trousers, tights, see-through shirts, culottes, or quarter-length trousers, sleeveless shirts, or vests and sandals (without ankle or heel straps), etc.
The Grand Palace does offer a clothes rental service in which you can borrow some stylish trousers and/or tops for a refundable 200 baht deposit from an office near the entrance. Hang onto your claim ticket, however, as you will need it to get that deposit back.
The heat in Bangkok is no joke and, inside the Grand Palace grounds, you'll find it almost unbearable. You absolutely must take a hat or even an umbrella with you, to shield you (and your kids) from the sun. We also strongly recommend packing on sunscreen and wearing
Day 9 - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary & Doi Suthep Mountain
A half-day package to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (join activity) offers you an enjoyable opportunity to spend quality time with elephants in their natural habitat as well as gain an insight into their history and behavior. It is here you will create cherished, lifelong memories of your time spent with these amazing animals!
You will be picked up (private transfer) from your hotel and will drive through scenic, agricultural areas before arriving at the sanctuary. There you will meet your English-speaking guide and learn a little about the elephants before changing into a comlimantary traditional Karen clothing.
After receiving bananas and sugar cane to feed to the elephants, you will walk with your guide through the sanctuary where you will find free-roaming elephants and hear their individual stories. You can touch, feed, photograph, and interact with the elephants at your leisure while you learn about their lifestyle and behaviors.
After sharing time with the elephants, you will head to Doi Suthep Mountain. Climb 309 steps to the top (For the less active traveler, a tram is available for a small surcharge.), enjoying truly breathtaking scenery all along the way. You will find Wat Phra That at the very top, one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. At the top, rest and relax while marveling at the panoramic views of the city of Chiang Mai.
*At the Sanctuary, we will allow you to spend as much time as possible with the elephants. Therefore, there is no formal schedule and aside from pick-up times, the times shown here are approximations.
* Please bring a change of clothes, as you will get dirty and wet while washing and swimming with elephants. After those activities, you can have a bath on the bathroom there.
*Don't forget to bring sunglasses, hat and sun tan lotion, non-slip shoes, towel and camera.
*Please ensure you take a waterproof holder/bag to carry the equipment in case of rain or water etc.
