Then, you will depart for the landmark Wat Arun. After that, you will cross the Chao Phraya River to the opposite bank by water taxi. Your second stop will be Wat Pho, which is one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples. Wat Pho was built by King Rama I about 200 years ago and houses the gigantic, gold-plated Reclining Buddha image. This unique image is 49 meters long and 12 meters high with beautifully inlaid mother-of-pearl soles. Lunch at a local restaurant before your visit to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, undoubtedly the most dazzling, spectacular royal monuments and the city’s most famous landmark. The four must-see temples on today’s tour form the skyline of Bangkok and give the best glimpse for fresh visitors. Then return to the hotel.
Most temples & palaces in Thailand are sacred places, you'll need to respect the strict dress code in place. You'll need to wear pants or a dress/skirt that extends well past your knees, and a top that fully covers your shoulders. (No shorts, mini-skirts, short skirts, tight-fitting trousers, tights, see-through shirts, culottes or quarter-length trousers, sleeveless shirts or vests Sandals (without ankle or heel straps), etc.
The Grand Palace does offer a clothes rental service in which you can borrow some stylish trousers and/or tops for a refundable 200 baht deposit from an office near the entrance. Hang onto your claim ticket, however, as you will need it to get that deposit back.
The heat in Bangkok is no joke and, inside the Grand Palace grounds, you'll find it almost unbearable. You absolutely must take a hat or even an umbrella with you, to shield you from the sun (and your kids). We also strongly recommend packing sunscreen and wearing clothing tha
