A 5-Day Journey in Seoul I Shared With My Mother
I spent 5 days in Seoul with my mother, and this trip became something much more meaningful than a simple city visit.
It was a journey of slowing down together — moving between nature, culture, and city life at a comfortable pace, sharing conversations, laughter, and small moments that felt increasingly rare in everyday life.
Seoul gave us exactly the right balance of energy and calm.

Day 1 – Nature Escape to Alpaca World & Nami Island
We started outside the city, surrounded by nature.
At Alpaca World, we walked slowly among open fields and gentle animals. It was light, playful, and instantly brought out a relaxed mood for both of us.
Later, the rail bike ride became one of the most memorable shared experiences — cycling side by side, passing through tunnels and countryside views, just enjoying the rhythm of movement together.
At Nami Island, the atmosphere shifted again. Walking under trees and along quiet paths felt peaceful, almost like stepping into a painting.
We ended the day at The Garden of Morning Calm, where soft light, flowers, and landscape design created a calm and almost dreamlike environment.
Day 2 – Modern Seoul & Creative Energy
Back in the city, we explored a completely different side of Seoul.
Myeongdong was full of energy — street food, small shops, and constant movement. It felt lively, but still fun to experience together.
The Nanta Show added a different kind of excitement — rhythm, performance, and humor that kept both of us fully engaged.
Later, we visited Seongsu-dong, where old industrial spaces have turned into creative cafés and boutiques. It felt modern, artistic, and very different from the traditional side of Korea we had seen before.
Day 3 – Namsan Views & Local Street Culture
We spent a slower day exploring Seoul’s city atmosphere.
At Namsan Park, we walked at an easy pace up toward the Love Locks area. The view over the city made us pause for a while — not just for photos, but simply to take in the skyline together.
In Gwangjang Market, we tried local food and moved through crowded alleys filled with energy and smells that felt deeply authentic.
Later, in Ikseon-dong, the narrow alleys, small cafés, and traditional architecture created a softer, more charming side of the city.
Day 4 – History of Seoul
This day brought us closer to Korea’s cultural and historical roots.
At the Blue House, we experienced a sense of political and national significance that added depth to the journey.
At Gyeongbokgung Palace, we walked through wide courtyards and traditional architecture that reflected centuries of history.
In Bukchon Hanok Village, the quiet residential streets and traditional houses made it feel like time had slowed down again.
It was a day of contrast — structured history in the morning, and peaceful traditional life in the afternoon.
Day 5 – A Gentle Ending in the City
Our final day in Seoul was intentionally slower.
We revisited favorite streets, took more photos, and simply enjoyed walking without a fixed plan.
It wasn’t about seeing more places — it was about holding onto the feeling of the trip a little longer before it ended.
A Journey I Will Always Remember
Looking back, this wasn’t just a 5-day Seoul itinerary.
It was a journey I shared with my mother — where nature, culture, and city life came together, but what mattered most was the time we spent side by side.
Every place we visited became more meaningful because we experienced it together.
