Day 1 - Welcome to Cambodia!
សួស្ដី Sua s'dei! Welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Your private guide will meet with you at airport and take you to hotel for check in. In your free time in the afternoon, strolling the streets of Siem Reap and explore the city.
Day 2 - Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat
Today you will start your bike tour (45 minutes for cycling) around the world heritage areas on the roads less travelled. Ride among the jungle passing local village and local shop. It’s a very special and acting day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourist.
You will first visit The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century),see the South Gate, Bayon Temple- unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. Continue to visit Baphuon temple, Phimeanakas,The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
In the aftenroon, visiting to the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology, visit Bakheng Temple and enjoy a romantic sun set view form Bakheng hill.
Day 3 - Banteay Srei & Ta Prohm Temple
If you want, you can take the early morning trip witness sunrise over Angkor Wat temple and listening singing birds over the ancient land of Angkor area, you also have the chance for a friendly talk with the monks and nuns at a nearby pagoda. After the sunrise tour, breakfast either at hotel or take away is available.
Start the day by visiting Banteay Srei Temples, nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carving.Continue to visit Banteay Samre, Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.
Have lunch at a local restaurant for exotic cuisine.Ta Prohm temple and Banteay Kdei are your next stops before some leisure time in the late afternoon.
Day 4 - Meet with Host Family
After breakfast, driving out of Siem Reap and heading to a local village. Along the way, you can stop at a non-profit organization that employs village women who specialize in the traditional craft of mat weaving (closed on Sundays and public holidays.) The mats are then sold in the markets, providing an income for the women.
When arriving in the village, visit to the home of a Khmer family who specializes in making brooms. Watch how they make brooms from natural materials. After that, take a guided walking tour around the village where you have the opportunity if you want to participate in fishing, farming or animal husbandry activities, depending on the time of year. Enjoy a simple Khmer lunch followed by more activities or just spend time chatting with the locals.
Tonight you will stay in the modest home of a Khmer family. You will be provided with a mattress, mosquito net, sheets, pillow and a towel. There are basic bathroom facilities with a bucket for bathing with fresh well water.
Day 5 - Morning Activities & Back to Siem Reap
Today after breakfast, choose from a range of activities, you might like take a walk or short cycle around the surrounding area, take part in working with locals in the fields or prepare lunch. Head back to Siem Reap just after lunch.
Enjoy your free time until your guide come and take you to enjoy an Apsara Dinner Show this afternoon. While dinning under the candle lit in the authentic Khmer set-up on the cozy low seats, you can indulge themselves with the Reamker (or Khmer Ramayana) and local folklore depicted through the traditional Khmer dancing accompanied by the Pinpat -the traditional Khmer orchestra. Empress the long lasting memory of Cambodian art & cultures.
