Day 1 - Welcome to Cambodia!
សួស្ដី Sua s'dei! Welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Your private guide will meet with you at the airport and take you to the hotel for check-in.
Day 2 - Angkor Wat & Bakheng Sunset
This morning you will be picked up at your accommodation in Siem Reap to begin your unforgettable Angkor Wat Tour. You will be transferred by private car to the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourists. Your tour will include visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Angkor Period (AD 802-1432). Visit the breathtaking Bayon Temple, one of the most popular sites in Angkor complex with over 200 giant faces carved into its 54 towers. The temple was designed to represent the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire and it still carries a completely majestic atmosphere. You will also visit Baphuon Temple,Phimeanakas Temple,the Terrace of the Elephant,the Terrace of the Leper King,and Royal Palace Temple.
In the afternoon, you will visit Angkor Wat Temple, one of the seven wonders of the world. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. View sunset at Phnom Bakheng before heading back to your accommodation.
Day 3 - Banteay Srei & Ta Prohm Temple
If you want, you can take the early morning trip witness sunrise over Angkor Wat temple and listening singing birds over the ancient land of Angkor area, you also have the chance for a friendly talk with the monks and nuns at a nearby pagoda. After the sunrise tour, breakfast either at the hotel or takeaway is available.
Start the day by visiting Banteay Srei Temples, nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carving. Continue to visit Banteay Samre, Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer. Have lunch at a local restaurant for exotic cuisine. Ta Prohm temple and Banteay Kdei are your next stops before some leisure time in the late afternoon.
Day 4 - Tonle Sap Lake Boat Trip & Battambang
Morning visit a Khmer village and enjoy view of the rice field and lots of palm trees with great fresh air. Then board on boat in Tonle Sap Lake, the biggest fresh-water lake in Southeast Asia. In the afternoon we drive to Battambang (about 3-4 hrs). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and have some leisure time.
Day 5 - Battambang Bamboo Train
Today you will discover the city of Battambang, a charming big city where you can watch the elegant houses in the French colonial style along the river. You then visit the Provincial Museum and the pagoda before heading to the 11th-century temple of Wat Ek Phnom.
You will pass through traditional villages along the route where you can attend the manufacture of family rice cakes and contact people about their daily lives. Afternoon, we drive an hour's ride to the hill of Phnom Bannon (337 steps) and its temple, Prasat Bannon, 7th century, which stands atop a mountain that reaches by a long staircase. From there, you can also admire the beautiful scenic landscape of villages, plains, and pagodas. We drive to the Bamboo Railway Station. The Bamboo Train has been set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and people. The train in itself is very basic – one platform on 4 wheels activated by a small motor. Sitting on the platform we travel the 8km to the next station through beautiful landscape and rice paddies. On arrival, you will visit a village and discover the daily life of the Cambodian countryside. You will also visit a workshop which is specialized in wooden sculpture.
Day 6 - Local Villages & Phnom Penh
Morning departure Phnom Penh the Capital city of Cambodia, by Having had time to explore, continue to Kompong Chhnang, taking the time to stop at a pottery village before continuing further north to Pursat Province, famous for its marble stone carvings. Then stop at Kompong Loung to visit the village of goldsmiths along the Tonle Sap, the manufacturing souvenir center stopping, and stop at Phnom Oudong, the ancient Cambodian capital during the latter stages of the Khmer Empire and crowning site of many past kings. Consisting of a series of stupas atop a large hill, there are outstanding views across the surrounding plains below. Phnom Oudong was bombed and desecrated by the Americans and then the Khmer Rouge, but still possesses a beauty that no war has been able to steal from it. Upon Arrival in Phnom Penh, check into the hotel, and free time for you.
Day 7 - Essential Phnom Pehn & Sunset Cruise
Today you will visit the Royal Palace. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), displaying plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made of diamond, emerald, gold, and silver. Travelers will proceed to visit Independence Monument which was constructed in 1954 after Cambodians took their country back from the French colony, continuing visit to National Museum, We pass through the River Front park whose scenery is much worth shooting, and continue to the only one hill in town with sacred sites called Wat Phnom.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the boat pier and climb aboard the boat for a trip on the Mekong River, where you can enjoy a joint sunset cruise on the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. Enjoy a sunset view of the colonial sights in Phnom Penh Capital City, the beautiful developing capital city of Cambodia. The riverfront offers views of some of the city’s most interesting sights including you a great opportunity to explore the Mekong. See Tonle Sap, Four Faces River, the Royal Palace, and Diamond Island. Discover the quaint fishing neighborhoods comprised of stilted houses. Relax and enjoy the sunset with free-flowing drinks (beer and soft drinks) and a fruit platter, before back to your hotel.
Day 8 - Head south to Kep
This morning you will leave Phnom Penh and head south to visit Tonle Bati where you can explore the small yet picturesque Angkorian temple of Ta Prohm. On the banks of the nearby river is a line of bamboo shacks with hammocks, a great place for a relaxing drink. We will get in our car to the quiet town of Takeo before taking a short boat trip to Angkor Borei Town, located just a few kilometers navigations from the Vietnam border. There is a small museum that displays several reproductions of sculptures from the nearby ruins and a few artifacts dating as far back as the 4th century. After this, we continue our boat trip to visit the pre-Angkorian-style temple of Phnom Da and a nearby temple of Asram Maharosei. The steep path over some big rocks makes Asram Maharosei different from other temples in Cambodia, definitely a piece of unusual memory for your Cambodia tours. You then continue southwards following the picturesque drive to Kampot. The southern coast of Cambodia, edging the border with Vietnam, once served as a glamorous seaside resort for the French in the early 1900s. Check-in upon arrival and free exploration afterward.
Day 9 - Rabbit Island Snorkeling & BBQ lunch
This morning, your tour guide will transfer you to visit the Caves of Kampong Trach where you can enjoy swimming in the crystal water. Kampong Trach town is small and relatively uninteresting. The area's main attraction is a series of limestone caves and tubes that have been carved into a nearby mountain. The roof of a large cave in the center of a mountain has collapsed, making a small, enclosed jungle. Pagodas and shrines have been built amongst the caves, providing some excellent photo possibilities. Bring a flashlight and wear good walking shoes.
Then back to Kep City and take a cruise of about 30mn to Rabbit Island, White sand beaches, and coconut trees. Relatively clear water. Snorkel around the rocks. No coral but lots of fish. Enjoy your swimming and BBQ Lunch on Island. In the late afternoon return back to Hotel.
Day 10 - Bokor National Park & Sihanouk Ville
Today you visit Bokor National Park where you will drive up the winding 35km road through lush jungle scenery to the cooler summit hill station. The Bokor Hill Station was originally developed as a playground for the colonial and Khmer elite in the early 20th century, its cooler climate and lush scenery provided a welcome relief from the lowland heat. However, as with much of Cambodia, Bokor's fortunes changed with the rise of the Khmer Rouge, the area saw heavy fighting and today many of the buildings are pock-marked and shattered from heavy machine guns and rocket fire. The ghostly remains have a unique ambiance and can be especially eerie when the clouds descend and the fog drifts in and out. On the way back to Kampot you will call into a durian plantation (the smelly spiky fruit this area is renowned for).
We then travel by roads along the southern coast towards Sihanouk Ville, which has long been a place of relaxation for Cambodians. Overnight in Sihanouk Ville.
Day 11 - Free Time in Sihanouk Ville
Day at leisure. Relax at your hotel or explore the surrounding area.
