The boat's crews are former whale shark hunters who now work as “whale shark spotters”. Several species of dolphins including the playful spinner dolphins are considered inhabitants in the area. At least six different species of whales shark (toothed and baleen) are also seen between March to June. The toothed whale sharks are reportedly sighted from February to November while the baleen whales are sighted from February to August.

After the refreshment, you will take a city tour of Dumaguete, including the Silliman University and Anthropological Museum. Next is a visit to the Hikaban Cooperative and Clay town Pottery where you can observe how locals weave pina cloth and craft earthenwares. Continue to the well-landscaped Freedom Park, the new Aqua Sports Center, the bustling public market, and the cathedral bell tower built-in 1811 to forewarn the townsfolk against Muslim marauders.
A quick trip down south of Dumaguete takes you to Negros Oriental Arts and Heritage which houses the stonecraft factory and showroom in Bacong, as well as the century-old Bacong Church. Lastly, you will ride a calesa through the stretch of Rizal Boulevard, and visit the souvenir shops along the downtown strip of the city.

Your guide will then bring you to the town of Lazi, where you can take a refreshing swim at the Cambugahay Falls and later visit a huge Balete Tree, which is said to be over 400 years old and is believed by the locals to be enchanted. Visiting the tarsiers was an incredible experience. I love wildlife and strongly believe we should respect animals and have them in their natural environment and the tarsier’s sanctuary did just this! They are so cute and small! Also the chocolate hills were really cool.
